Our Flores road trip continues to the mountain village of Moni, gateway to the spectacular Kelimutu crater lakes. Between misty mountains, relentless rain, wrong turns and roads that had us questioning Google Maps, this leg of the journey didn’t quite go to plan — but as we were quickly discovering, that’s all part of travelling across Flores by motorbike.

Our Flores adventure began in Maumere, where tropical coastlines, vibrant coral reefs and friendly smiles welcomed us to an island that already felt different. This wasn't just another destination—it was the start of a journey filled with authentic experiences, incredible diving, winding mountain roads and some of the kindest people we've ever met. If first impressions are anything to go by, Flores is going to be an adventure we'll never forget.
