We’re Donna and Kev, a couple of sixty-something Aussies who believe getting older doesn’t mean the adventures have to stop - in fact, for us, they’re only getting better.

These days, life gives us a little more freedom to travel. Kev is now retired, while I run my own small business, giving us the flexibility to pack our bags and head off for longer stretches at a time. We’re no longer trying to squeeze everything into a couple of weeks of annual leave, and that has completely changed the way we travel.

​

We like to call ourselves glampackers. We love the freedom and adventure of backpacking, but these days we also appreciate a comfortable bed, our own bathroom and occasionally somewhere a little special. We travel slowly, stay longer and, whenever we can, explore independently - whether that's hiring a motorbike, driving our own tuk-tuk or simply seeing where the road takes us.

Not So Grey Travellers is where we share the real version of our travels. The places we loved, the ones that didn't quite live up to expectations, how we got from A to B, where we stayed, what things cost and all those little things we wish we'd known before we arrived.

​

We're not ticking countries off a list and we're definitely not trying to prove that age is just a number. We're simply making the most of having the time and freedom to see more of this incredible world — while we're still young enough to enjoy the adventure.

​

If our travels encourage someone else to pack a bag, book the flight and realise they're not too old to do it their way, then this blog has done exactly what we hoped it would.
